TIE Hunter Ingame
The TIE Hunter is an Eriadu Authority starfighter available in Eras 1–5. It carries an armament of 2 Laser Cannons and 2 Medium Ion Cannons.
History[]
The TIE Hunter was the exclusive starfighter of the Imperial Storm Commandos. Designed as a counter to the Rebel X-wing, the Hunter possessed S-foils that would open when attacking and close in normal flight. The craft were also unique among TIE starfighters in that they were equipped with shields and a hyperdrive. Because when the S-Foils were closes the craft diverted all power from weapons to the engines, when in flight mode it was the fastest TIE variant in the Imperial Fleet. In addition to the laser and ion cannons, the TIE Hunter was also equipped with a proton torpedo launcher.
Upon the death of Emperor Palpatine and the formation of the Eriadu Authority, Superior General Sander Delvardus continued the Storm Commando program and the production of TIE Hunters. However, in the interests of cost and expediency, the hyperdrive system and torpedo launchers were removed.

The TIE Hunter is one of the unique fighters to the Eriadu Authority. The TIE Hunter is designed as a dogfighter and to harrass capital ships with its ion cannons. It is insanely fast with its S-foils open (with speeds matching that of the New Republic A-wing) and even faster when the S-foils are closed. The Ion Cannons strip the shields of fighters, letting the laser cannons directly impact the hull.
