The Arquitens-class Light Cruiser is a light frigate available to the Pentastar Alignment and Greater Maldrood in Eras 1–5.
History[]
Developed by Kuat Drive Yards, the Arquitens-class light cruiser was introduced during the Clone Wars, where it often found itself escorting Venator-class Star Destroyers into battle against the forces of the CIS. Ships of this class participated in many notable battles, including the Battle of Saleucami and the Battle of Sullust.

The Arquitens-class light cruiser is very similar to the Carrack-class Light Cruiser. It has very strong shields for a ship its size, can stand up to much more dangerous vessels, and can run from anything it can't kill. Compared to the Carrack, the Arquitens has stronger shields and a higher top speed. They also only cost 1 population point compared to the 2 of the Carrack. Arquitens Cruisers also carry more heavy weapons than the Carrack, 4 Heavy Turbolasers compared to the Carrack's 2, although the Carrack also fields Ion Cannons while the Arquitens fields Quad Laser Cannons. Because of those Quad Laser Cannons, Arquitens are decent in a supporting anti-fighter role, though they aren't as effective as dedicated anti-fighter ships like the Raider or IPV. Unlike the Carrack however, the Arquitens does not have the Single Unit Retreat ability, meaning once you call one in, it's stuck for the duration of the battle or until it is destroyed.
In short, the Arquitens is a great escort ship and an excellent pathfinder unit due to the ship's versatility.
